Staying Data-Informed to Improve Student Outcomes

At Innive K12 360°, a key part of our mission is to help schools and districts ensure their decision making is data-informed. This requires having access to the right data to make those decisions.

In a recent webinar, Addressing Learning Loss with Innive’s Data Analytics Solution, our VP of Data Science, John Parker, sat down with Michael McAuley, Chief of Staff at Hillsborough County Public Schools (FL), to discuss how Michael’s district has used data to support school leaders, teachers, and instruction for the purpose of improving student outcomes.

Michael’s strategy with his district was to complete three key actions:

  1. Extract metrics from Canvas LMS to measure student progress, proficiency, and engagement.
  2. Use the metrics combined with survey and assessment data to produce a student scorecard that shows current student status.
  3. Aggregate student data to build group scorecards for Schools, Programs, and Student Subgroups.
